Pantry Organization in Houston, Texas

This pantry was a different project. There is space in this pantry, but not all of it was being used to the best of its’ ability. I was brought in for my organization advice and to figure out a way to make it useable for this family of six.

When working on this pantry, I had to pay attention to the space behind the shelves. There is a lot of space here, but the client didn’t know how to use it properly.

I made sure after sorting the food in the pantry to think about how everything would flow. With such a large family, there was a lot of back stock and many food items to consider in the pantry. Plus, they enjoy baking so that was a whole shelf as well!

When putting items back into the pantry, I made sure to put more used items in the front that could easily be reached. In the bins, the most used items were closest to the door, and back into the pantry was back stock or less used items.

With four kids, they wanted snacks accessible to their children. The bottom shelf has kid snacks that they can help themselves to during snack time. This helps mom as the kids can get what they want themselves.

Adult snacks are higher up since that’s more accessible to the tall parents!

Items needed for cooking dinner are easily accessible as well. As all moms know, dinner cooking time is hit or miss. Some days, kids are playing well and cooperating and other days are a hot mess! Having dinner items easily accessible helps on those crazy days when kids need everything during dinner prep time.
