Why should we have habits? You can live your life without them, but it will make it much harder, even if you’re not a schedule person. Creating habits during your day will ease your decision fatigue. We only have so much decision making power during the day. If you use it all up in the morning, it will be harder to make good decisions in the afternoon. So, when you haven’t created a wardrobe habit of what to wear, you use that decision making power in the morning rather than saving it to make healthy choices at dinner. When you haven’t decided what breakfast to have that morning, you use that power in the morning rather than saving it to remain calm while you child is having a meltdown. For me, I have to save a lot of decision power for the afternoon when my kids have less of it and are prone to meltdowns.
