Organized Travel with Kids

When I get on instagram, I constantly see mom’s cooking meals that require recipes and sometimes intense recipes. But I have realized in my stage of life, recipes are not helpful for me. Unless I know the recipe by heart, I am not able to read a new recipe while cooking with a toddler either […]

How to Create a Simple Meal Plan

Summer is a great time to relax, have fun, and spend quality time with your kids. However, if you’re not careful, it can also be a time of chaos and stress. That’s why it’s important to plan ahead and make the most of the summer months. I have noticed preschool programs and day cares have […]

How to Plan Your Summer

As we get into Spring, many of us get the urge to clean up our home. But when we have too much stuff, it makes it hard to clean. And with all that stuff, dust starts to accumulate (hello allergies!). So, before you get to cleaning your home, take some time to declutter and get […]

How to Declutter Before Spring Cleaning

I have a hard time with perfectionism. I typically want to do everything I “could” do. However, if I do all those things, I won’t make it to Friday. I have to figure out what are the most important things to get done and to what extent. I am still a work in progress, but […]

How I Deal with Perfectionism

As a parent, there is never enough time to get everything done. I am slowly learning this myself. You have to rely on figuring out what to do with the time you have. When your kids go to bed, would you prefer to clean the kitchen or sit down and relax? In the morning, would […]

How to Create Your Ideal Day

Over New Years, we spent some time out of town as a family. It was the first “vacation” since having kids that I felt like I could relax. I enjoyed time with my kids rather than thinking about the next thing I needed to do. I realized that I was way more present than I […]

5 Ways I am a More Present Parent

Why should we have habits? You can live your life without them, but it will make it much harder, even if you’re not a schedule person. Creating habits during your day will ease your decision fatigue. We only have so much decision making power during the day. If you use it all up in the morning, it will be harder to make good decisions in the afternoon. So, when you haven’t created a wardrobe habit of what to wear, you use that decision making power in the morning rather than saving it to make healthy choices at dinner. When you haven’t decided what breakfast to have that morning, you use that power in the morning rather than saving it to remain calm while you child is having a meltdown. For me, I have to save a lot of decision power for the afternoon when my kids have less of it and are prone to meltdowns.

How to Create New Habits

When raising kids, one of the main goals in our house is they become productive members of society. Will that happen when I do everything for them? Or should I start giving them some independence and ability to complete tasks themselves? Clearly, even with young kids, it’s time to start teaching them some life skills […]
